Fat Beehive - Fat Beehive hires first graduate from Code4000 as part of new partnership

Ben Williams starts as a Junior Backend Developer at Fat Beehive’s Manchester offices

Following the successful completion of the Code4000 curriculum, Ben Williams joins Fat Beehive as a full-time Junior Backend Developer based in Manchester. The hire represents an important milestone as the first of the newly announced partnership between the two organisations in an effort to increase diversity in tech and reduce reoffending rates.

Ben started with Code4000 at Yoomee digital in Sheffield following his release in 2019 after always having a love for web-building and coding. An exemplary Code4000 student with a passion for the third sector, he now joins Fat Beehive with the necessary skills and experience to undertake a range of projects.

We are absolutely delighted to be able to employ Ben as a developer in our Manchester office – Ben is highly motivated, skilled and very keen to learn more – he will be a great addition to the team. People with different life experiences bring a different perspective to problem-solving and ways of working. Diverse teams are not only more innovative but also more productive so this is good for our business, good for society and good for Ben. We look forward to working with Code4000 and taking on more of their graduates.

We’re always pleased to see our graduates progress into a role where their training at Code4000 will be utilised effectively. Ben has been an inspiration to all of us here and we’re incredibly excited to see him joining a company that values our approach and has been so helpful throughout the process. I’m hoping this news will inspire other organisations to follow suit and adopt a more diverse approach to employment.
