Our positive, vibrant new site for the Young Women's Trust puts young women's voices front and centre

The Young Women’s Trust have worked for years to improve the futures of young women across the UK, supporting them to unlock their potential and get the recognition they deserve in workplaces that must become truly equal, once and for all.

At the heart of this change are young women between the ages of 18 and 30, often living with low or no pay. The Trust supports them to take a leading role in shaping their future, including them in every aspect of the organisation’s work and giving them a voice both internally and in the media. So it was only natural that they played a key part in the website development process too.

The Young Women's Trust's new website is bright, positive and user-led.

Young women participated in our comprehensive discovery phase, user workshops and research alongside the wider Young Women’s Trust team, giving invaluable insight into their needs and expectations as the site’s main audience. As well as helping to define how information should be structured, they gave feedback on the design concept and showed incredible awareness and knowledge of aspects such as accessibility, brand cohesiveness and User Experience.

Throughout the process we were ably supported by the Trust’s superb head of digital, Sarah, who gives her own perspective on the project in this short blog. The resulting site is a strong, dynamic hub for the Trust’s services and research, showcasing its breadth of support, campaigning activity and publications – as well as the change the organisation works to realise every day.
