PDFs are everywhere on charity websites – annual reports, research, policies, guides, briefings and publications. But the information attached to them isn’t always particularly helpful. A vague filename or missing description can leave editors and visitors with very little idea what a document actually contains.
PDF Summariser takes care of much of that work automatically.
When a PDF is uploaded to your Media Library, it uses AI to analyse the document and create a title and summary based on its contents. Those are then added to the PDF’s metadata, saving someone from having to open the document, work out what it covers and write the information themselves.
That’s particularly useful for organisations that regularly publish reports, research or other documents – or have several people responsible for adding them to the website. Rather than relying on every editor to describe PDFs consistently, the plugin does the initial work for them.
Clear titles and summaries also make it easier to understand what documents are about when managing them in WordPress, rather than having to open each PDF to check.
