Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research (interviews, usability testing, surveys, card sorting, ethnographic studies).
- Translate research findings into clear insights, personas, journey maps, and actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with designers and project teams to embed user needs into every stage of design and development.
Facilitate client workshops, co-creation sessions, and stakeholder interviews
- Advocate for inclusive, accessible design practices and ensure outputs meet accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Present research findings confidently to clients, senior stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Contribute to and help evolve Fat Beehive’s UX research framework and best practices.
- Support proposal writing, scoping, and estimation for new business opportunities where user research is required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- 4+ years’ experience in UX research, ideally in a digital agency or multidisciplinary team.
- Expertise in user-centred design methods and practical knowledge of when to apply them.
- Strong experience running usability tests, interviews, and surveys both remotely and in-person.
- Ability to analyse and synthesise data, turning insights into strategic recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication — able to tell a compelling story from research.
- Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusion principles.
- Experience working collaboratively with designers, developers, and project managers.
Desirable
- Experience in the charity or non-profit sector.
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.) to complement qualitative research.
- Competence with Figma, Miro, Optimal Workshop, or similar tools.
- Experience mentoring or supporting more junior team members.
