Delightful Ethical Digital

UX Researcher

We’re looking for a Mid–Senior UX Researcher to lead evidence-based discovery, shape user insights, and ensure our design decisions are grounded in a real-world understanding of audiences and their needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research (interviews, usability testing, surveys, card sorting, ethnographic studies).
  • Translate research findings into clear insights, personas, journey maps, and actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with designers and project teams to embed user needs into every stage of design and development.

Facilitate client workshops, co-creation sessions, and stakeholder interviews

  • Advocate for inclusive, accessible design practices and ensure outputs meet accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Present research findings confidently to clients, senior stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Contribute to and help evolve Fat Beehive’s UX research framework and best practices.
  • Support proposal writing, scoping, and estimation for new business opportunities where user research is required.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 4+ years’ experience in UX research, ideally in a digital agency or multidisciplinary team.
  • Expertise in user-centred design methods and practical knowledge of when to apply them.
  • Strong experience running usability tests, interviews, and surveys both remotely and in-person.
  • Ability to analyse and synthesise data, turning insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — able to tell a compelling story from research.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusion principles.
  • Experience working collaboratively with designers, developers, and project managers.

Desirable

  • Experience in the charity or non-profit sector.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.) to complement qualitative research.
  • Competence with Figma, Miro, Optimal Workshop, or similar tools.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting more junior team members.

Personal Attributes

    • Empathetic and curious — motivated by understanding people and solving meaningful problems.
        • Structured thinker with a pragmatic approach to research and delivery.
        • Confident communicator and facilitator.
        • Passionate about social impact and improving the digital experience for charities and their audiences.
