From awards to fundraising challenges, War Child and SIA achieve big things for the communities they support.

Real-world impact

One of the best parts of our job at Fat Beehive is seeing the incredible impact our clients have out in the world. This time, we’re celebrating two organisations making headlines for all the right reasons: War Child and the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA).

War Child: Honouring courage and compassion

On 12 September, the Third Sector Awards named War Child’s Gaza Emergency Response Team the Frontline Team of the Year. It’s hard to overstate what this small, dedicated group has achieved. Since the crisis began in 2023, they’ve reached more than 180,000 people – including over 120,000 children – with life-saving and life-changing support.

From mental health services to safe spaces for children to simply being there when families need them most, this team has brought light to one of the darkest places on earth. The award recognises their courage, skill and the sheer humanity behind their work – and we couldn’t be prouder to support an organisation making such a difference.

War Child’s impact doesn’t stop on the ground, either. Ambassadors Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford were also named Celebrity Charity Champions at the awards. Since 2014, they’ve raised over £15 million through concerts, campaigns and tireless advocacy. Whether it’s headlining fundraising galas or using their voices to keep children affected by war in the public eye, they’ve helped War Child amplify its mission in extraordinary ways.

SIA: Pedalling towards progress

While War Child was celebrating its heroes, the Spinal Injuries Association was looking firmly to the future with the launch of its next big challenge: a five-day, 305km overseas cycling event from Toulouse to Bordeaux in 2026.

This ride is so much more than a fundraiser. It’s five days of sweeping French countryside, the buzz of crossing the finish line together, and the chance to raise life-changing funds for people with spinal cord injuries. With headline sponsors JMW Solicitors LLP backing the event, 2026 is set to be the biggest and boldest ride yet – and every penny raised will help SIA keep supporting people through some of the toughest times of their lives.

Why we’re so proud

At Fat Beehive, we love helping charities like War Child and SIA tell their stories, connect with supporters and push for change. Seeing them celebrated for their work – whether it’s awards for frontline teams or the launch of epic fundraising challenges – reminds us why we do what we do.

So here’s to War Child’s award-winning team and ambassadors, and to SIA’s soon-to-be peloton of fundraising heroes. We can’t wait to see what comes next.
