A major milestone
The B Corp 10th Anniversary UK marks a decade of progress for responsible businesses across the country. This month marks a huge milestone for the UK B Corp community as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. From just 62 certified companies in 2015 to more than 2,600 today, the movement has redefined what responsible business looks like – proving that profit and purpose can thrive side by side.
At Fat Beehive, we became a certified B Corp in 2020 because we’ve always believed business can – and should – be a force for good. The B Corp framework gave us a way to measure that belief: to hold ourselves accountable for the impact we have on people, planet and profit, and to keep raising the bar.
Reflecting and celebrating
The “Take 10” campaign encourages every B Corp to pause, reflect and celebrate how far we’ve come. And there’s plenty to celebrate. According to B Lab UK, 79% of UK B Corps pay the real Living Wage, 87% have a written environmental management system, and 82% measure and manage their carbon emissions. Those are tangible commitments making a real difference.
For us, it’s been a journey of collaboration and continuous improvement. We’ve embedded sustainability into how we work, reduced waste and emissions across our operations, and kept accessibility, inclusion and wellbeing at the heart of our culture.
But what really drives us are the clients we serve – charities, non-profits and socially minded organisations using digital to make the world better. Our B Corp status reassures them that we share their values, and that the websites we build are grounded in ethics as well as excellence.
