When you’re making changes to your website, it isn’t always easy to know what will work best. Will people respond better to one headline than another? Does changing the wording of a call to action encourage more people to click? Sometimes the only way to know is to try both.
A/B Testing lets you compare different versions of a page, directly on your WordPress or Drupal CMS, to see which performs better.
Visitors are shown one of two versions of the same page, and the plugin tracks how each version performs. That means you can test a change with real website visitors rather than relying on assumptions about what they might prefer.
You might want to compare two different headlines, try alternative calls to action or test a more substantial change to the content or layout of a page. You can use the results to see which version is working better and decide whether the change is worth keeping. It’s particularly handy when there’s more than one way you could approach a page and no obvious reason to choose one over the other.
Rather than relying on instinct, you can see how real visitors respond and make your decision from there.
