Main purpose of the job
As an experienced web-first QA Engineer, you can demonstrate your skills through a strong knowledge of QA processes, experience with both manual and automated testing, and ability to work across technical teams with stakeholders of all levels. You are comfortable working with modern web technologies and CMS systems such as WordPress and Drupal, and experienced in both UI and functional testing.
Our modern, comfortable Lagos office is based in Ikate, Lekki.
Key duties & responsibilities
Task planning and communication, 10%
- Work from a Jira ticket backlog based on priority to work through production tickets submitted by clients
- Communicate directly with technical colleagues to test solutions to tickets that they have provided
- Be able to effectively self-triage tasks in the event you need other resource to assist in completion of the support tickets
QA Testing & Process Development, 85%
- Work with the Project Management team in turning Discovery outcomes into a testable pipeline for the lifetime of a project
- Perform tests on all complex tickets as they’re delivered by your Backend/Frontend colleagues to ensure they meet the project’s requirements
- Mentor junior QA colleagues on implementing best practices, and updating their skillsets where needed
- Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of WCAG standards and how to test for them
- Understand website application structure, and how UI elements interact with Backend systems
- Work with the project manager to ensure the tickets are fed back to the right channel where necessary
- Be able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Build processes to support your work and the entire QA team to better support production processes

- Accurately track time spent and provide timely, accurate feedback.

Skills
Essential:
- Knowledge of manual and automated testing of web technologies
- Excellent communication skills in explaining complex technical topics in simple terms
- Excellent understanding of WCAG standards and how to test for them
- Mature, focussed way of working
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent English language skills (verbal and written)
It would be an advantage to also:
- Experience in both WordPress and Drupal
- Design standards
This role a hybrid role, with 2 days WFH, and 3 days a week required in our spacious office in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
Salary: ₦24 Million per year
