How we helped

The challenge

As one of London’s most unique events venues, Union Chapel needed a site that would show off just what an amazing space they have. Making it as quick and simple as possible for users to find out what’s going on and book event tickets no matter whether they’re browsing on the latest mobile or on their mums out-dated home PC was crucial.

Also home to a working church, a world-famous organ and The Margins Project for those homeless and in crisis in London, the website needed to showcase the great work the guys and gals at the Chapel do in the community.

Our approach

Union Chapel wanted to bring across the energy of the venue while retaining the community aspect of the building. This was achieved by using large imagery, bright colour palettes and animation along with an eccentric mix of typography and iconography making the visitor feel excited about the experience they will have at the Chapel.

Our solution

We started the project with user research, working closely with Union Chapel staff, beneficiaries and event-goers to get a thorough understanding of their various needs when it came to the Chapel’s online presence. Workshops, interviews and surveys gave us a real flavour of the fun, thriving community at the heart of the Chapel.

The website we built makes it super easy for event-seekers to find out what’s going on and book their tickets, whilst not ignoring other users.

The fun, quirky colour palette and graphics pitch the Chapel as a lively, buzzing venue where things are constantly happening (don’t just take our word it – get yourself over to Union Chapel pronto!).

The site is fully responsive, catering for the ever-growing number of people using their phones and tablets to book events online.
