CSR Europe launch a redesigned website with portlets, site-wide categorisation and multiple directories.
CSR Europe is the leading European business network for corporate social responsibility with around 70 multinational corporations and 25 national partner organisations as members.
Fat Beehive have designed and built a new site, working closely with Brussels based CSR Europe. In addition to the implementation of the BeeKeeper Content Management System and Mailing List System, the website is controlled by a number of additional systems;
Portlets
The website makes use of portlets, which are blocks of content that can be static (i.e. manually written content) or dynamic (content flowing into the block from News or a Polls system). Portlets appear on the website to the left and right of the main content area and can be as long or as short as needed. Website editors create groups of portlets, which are applied to pages throughout the site as relevant. For example, a group of portlets with details about bananas can be applied to a page whose main content is concerned with bananas!
Password Protected Membership Areas
All pages within the CSR Europe website can have access restricted by password. Website administrators give each member inclusion to one or more groups. Each page of the website has the ability to have its access restricted to one or more of these groups. This gives a highly flexible method of controlling levels and layers of access throughout the website.
Site-wide Categorisation
To aid searching throughout the site, in addition to a standard keyword search, visitors can use a Category Search. Each page of the website and directory entries can be categorised, and website administrators can add, edit and delete categories as required. This keeps the website flexible and avoids CSR Europe being tied into limited categories as requirements change in the future.
The CSR Europe website features a number of searchable directories - of Members, of CSR Solutions, of News articles and of Initiatives from CSR's national partners - along with Poll and Survey Systems which can be employed throughout the website.
