New Inviting Design for Parents for Children
6th June 2007

Parents for Children, a charity that specialises in finding loving, caring families for children with exceptional needs, launch a new and exciting website.

Parents for Children work throughout the UK to find permanent homes for children who have profound emotional, learning or physical disabilities. Without their help, many of these children would otherwise remain in residential care or face many disruptive moves in the care system.

Fat Beehive Ltd. have recently designed and developed a brand new website for the Parents for Children Charity. The site is fully content managed using our highly developed bespoke content management system and is built to a high standard of accessibility complying with WAI guidelines.

The main goal in designing the new Parents for Children website was to incorporate their new colour scheme and to provide a friendly, inviting site that reflected the work they do with children. This was accomplished by bringing in soft rounded flowing lines, a new logo as well as using some of the children's fun playful artwork. The key to the design was to keep the site very professional looking while maintaining a high level of accessibility without taking away the vision of love and caring that the charity wanted to portray.

The website features a donation button at the top of each main page linking to a secure online donation page. This was a very important aspect of the build as it is through the donations that the charity is able to continue to work for the future of these children. Another important feature is our mailing list system which allows Parents for Children to create and send out email messages to an automatically managed list of subscribers on a regular basis.

The site offers a text resizer and text only facility as well as a site wide search facility.
