Pharmaceutical Portal Live
18th July 2006

A portal for Local Pharmaceutical Committiees has been developed for the PSNC.

The Pharmaceutical Society Negotiating Committee (PSNC) works to secure the best possible remuneration, terms and conditions for NHS pharmacy contractors in England and Wales.

The PSNC commissoned a Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) portal, to bring together and enable a web presence for the 90 or so LPCs that PSNC support.

Local Pharmaceutical Committees (LPCs) represent all NHS pharmacy contractors in a defined locality. LPCs are recognised by local NHS Primary Care Organisations and are consulted on local matters affecting pharmacy contractors.

Fat Beehive created a portal area with a map of England to locate the regional LPC's.
A design template was then developed into which each LPC can control copy, images and documents using Fat Beehive's BeeKeeper Content Management System. LPC's that already have their own website can link directly to that website from the Portal interface.

PSNC manage general and national news stories that are automatically placed on each content managed LPC website, leaving the LPCs to manage the main content of their website.

The result is a portal giving access to all 90+ LPC websites, with simple content management to control the sites and the ability to link to already existing LPC websites.
