Gamcare extend helpline with forum

Gamcare extend helpline with forum
3rd August 2005

Gamcare have launched a bulletin board style help forum to enable people to discuss, ask questions and offer advice.

The forum requires users to register by providing their name, email, screen name and age. They can also upload a picture.
Once registered, users can post new topics and reply to other posts. Messages can contain limited formatting and the ability to add web links.

The whole forum is moderated by Gamcare staff. A spam button allows a user to be flagged when posting unsavoury messages. Any further messages by that user will then be moderated before going live in the forum. Moderators can also edit posts and are helped by a banned words list that automatically filters for words listed by Gamcare. The banned words list is maintained by Gamcare via a content management system.
