The Decent Dance in the Square
23rd May 2005
To promote the June 8th Tea Dance in Trafalgar Square, Cafédirect launch a Tea Dance micro site with animated dance steps and a Dance Off challenge game.
June 8th 2005 saw a world record breaking tea dance arranged by Cafédirect in London's Trafalgar Square.
To promote and celebrate the event, Fat Beehive built a microsite featuring information on the history of tea dances, etiquette and learning to dance.

Animated dance steps take the novice through the Waltz, the Rumba and the Cha Cha Cha on screen. The site visitor can then download a PDF dance mat to print out and practice their moves, on a twister style floor mat.
Once our novice has accomplished these steps, they can play the Dance Off challenge game. Based on the dance games in arcades, this desk based version requires the player to have quick fingers, a good memory and finely tuned timing. Players first train in two dances, then when ready move forward to the challenge itself - to replicate the dance steps on the keyboard accurately and in time. The better the accuracy, the higher the score.
