Cafédirect AGM Video Stream

Cafédirect AGM Video Stream
7th March 2005

Cafédirect offers a live video broadcast of the Annual General Meeting for shareholders who can't attend.

On March 5th Cafédirects' first AGM since becoming a PLC took place at the Mermaid Theatre, London. Fat Beehive provided a web stream of the event via the Cafédirect website for those unable to attend.

The format of the AGM involved the chief executive officer Penny Newman, financial director Phil King and chairman Martin Meteyard giving presentations from the platform, preceeded by a keynote speech given by Professor Tim Lang. Follow these presentations questions were taken from the floor. This formal part of the AGM lasted just under two hours and was streamed live over the Internet in its entirety.

Fat Beehive covered the event with four cameras, sound from the theatres' desk, a production gallery with talk back facilities and transmission from Quicktime Broadcaster to Quicktime Streaming Server in the data centre. A password protected area on the Cafédirect website gave shareholders access to the video stream.

Following the AGM, the video file of the event was placed on the Streaming Server for shareholders to view on demand.

Four AGM workshops were also filmed during the day of the AGM and these will be edited and placed on the Cafédirect website for shareholder viewing.
